The Tiny Bunker was designed and built with the vision for simple yet comfortable living that supports a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. The meticulously designed 160 square foot Tiny Bunker makes use of every inch and lacks for nothing. It is really efficient; everything has a purpose and a place which is very esthetically pleasing!
With an emphasis on sustainability, the Cabin is powered from the nearby community solar garden, and guests can reduce waste by recycling and composting on the property. Tall ceilings, a well-equipped kitchen, a unique high-end bathroom, convertible working/dining area, and comfy sleeping space with cotton sheets are few features.
The bedroom is tiny, but the design is super stylish with the wood walls surrounded. The bed is so comfortable with all-cotton bedding and extra pillows and blankets that it would make you hard to get out of even when nature calls outside! The room is also equipped with air conditioning and Smart TV to access free channels or stream a movie or show from your Netflix/Hulu/etc. accounts which are perfect for a movie night.
A full bath is provided inside the house consisting of a custom closet with a shower, small sink, folding stools, plush cotton towels, and high-end toiletries. The bathroom is cute and tiny but holds everything you will need after a day of walking around with all the extra amenities available, including lavender-scented soap and lotion.
The space is small but perfectly designed for two and is utilized perfectly. It has tall ceilings and sliding glass doors which allow you to view nature from inside the cabin. It is spotless, great, and has everything you need from Q-tip, scented candles, playing cards, back-up phone chargers to Bluetooth speakers.
The kitchen is well stocked; you will have everything you need, including oil olive, balsamic, spices, plenty of tools and utensils, two-burner stoves, and a large selection of organic coffee and tea, along with a complimentary bottle of wine paired with organic Alter Eco Chocolates. Do be aware, and the kitchen does not have an oven, so you will not be doing any baking here. There is also a convertible flip-up table, which can be used as a cozy dining area for two or to do a little work if you must.
The Tiny Bunker features magical outdoor two decks with a seating area to relax and enjoy nature and gorgeous wire twinkling lights. The lower deck dining nook is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while taking in the view of the mountains. It has a fire table, grill, and a hot tub for two with an optional umbrella during snow or rain. What could be better than watching a fire while relaxing in a hot tub after a day of kayaking?
The second deck brings you even further among the trees, accentuating the winter views of the mountains. Read a good book, take a nap, or enjoy the trees’ view while relaxing on the outdoor patio furniture on the second deck. You can expect to see birds, deer, and other wildlife while you enjoy the outdoors.
Besides the amazing views, the location itself is prime for outdoor adventure and being in close enough proximity to Boone, NC, which is just a 20 minute or less drive from the cabin. Guests can go fishing, kayaking, rafting, and sunbathing at the New River, just a 5-minute walk from the property.
You can also hike to see the breathtaking views at the top of Elk Knob Mountain, 17-minute drive, or skiing at Appalachian Ski Mtn. which is just 30 minutes from the property. The space is also close with many local good food and bars, including the historic Todd Mercantile with its famous cinnamon buns, baked goods, and unique items, which is just a 5-minute walk. Do be aware that the Mercantile keeps odd hours, so check online before you go.
Please note that to reach the Tiny Bunker, you must drive up a 150 winding gravel driveway. In the case of a major storm, there is a pullout across the road from the driveway where guests can park and walk up the short driveway. You will have one dedicated parking space for your use during your stay. We may accommodate a second vehicle and ask that you request this from us before your arrival.
