Joshua Tree Desert Dream Shipping Container Suite by Steve
Tiny Home meets a 5-star suite carved out of two 20′ shipping containers converted into a 320 sq ft. luxury King suite. The Desert Dream Suite is one of the three private apartment suite units available for guest rental at El Ranchito Wellness Inn and Spa. Beautifully-appointed, 70% glass for stellar views, shared access to the pool, private jacuzzi, 12 hammock, patios, lounges, daybeds & wide open spaces.
The Desert Dream Shipping Container Suite at El Ranchito Wellness Inn and Spa is its own standalone tiny home with a private bathroom, kitchen, and patio. Depending on occupancy, guests may share the common patio areas, including the outdoor lounges, lap pool, spa patio, hammock palapa areas, and private hot tub sanctuary.
A king-size bed is provided in the suite. It is super comfortable and clean with extra linens and pillows. The room is open to the Eastern view of the desert and lets you stargazing right from your bed. Be careful with the corner of the bed, though, because the room is somehow a bit tiny.
A private bathroom is available, fully equipped with essentials such as towels, shampoo, soap, and hot water. Other options like a hot tub and outdoor showers are also available. The hot tub cabana is private and completely enclosed, with no sightlines in, and it locks from the inside with the “Occupied”/”Vacant” sign out front for extra privacy.
The Desert Dream Shipping Container is its own standalone tiny home with a private bathroom, kitchen, and patio. There is no TV in the space, but Wi-Fi is available throughout the listing. The kitchen allows you to cook basic meals as it is stocked with an oven, microwave, stove, coffee maker, dishes and silverware, dishwasher, and cooking basics such as pots and pans, oil, salt, and pepper. There is also a refrigerator, so you do not need to worry about keeping your food supply during the staycation.
The Desert Dream Shipping Container is at the lower level of the entire property in El Ranchito. It means the guests of all the rental suites share common areas such as lap pool, hot tubs, outdoor showers, fire tables, hammocks, patios, and the gorgeous environments that are perfect for every kind of activity from meditative chilling and stargazing to action-adventuring.
The lap pool is truly an oasis in the middle of the desert. Depending on occupancy, the guests might share this area with other visitors as well. They provide extra towels here, and there is a very cool counter at the side of the pool. People can chill either from the counter or the hammocks as the hammocks area is next to the pool.
All Desert Dream Suite guests also have a full run of the five acres of the open desert (and a labyrinth and sand art areas) along with the other guests and can hike, run, and ride right out from the front door at will. The ranch can also be rented for functions and group retreats as many as two dozen guests come together pitch tents, or sleep in hammocks and party, study, or meditate all together, using the ranch house as a great room for a meeting, cooking, eating, working and showering. Given enough notice, and based upon availability, yoga and mindfulness instructors, massage and bodywork therapists, and climbing, hiking, cycling, ATVing, and horseback riding guides are also available for hire.
Joshua Tree Ranchito Regio de la Playa is only 8 miles from the Visitors Center and Eastern entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and is the closest entrance to many of the parks top destinations, including the Bell, Cottonwood Springs, Jumbo Rocks, Ryan Mountain, Sheep’s Pass, Skull rock and Split rock areas.
While at the ranch, guests are also only 4 miles away from the legendary Smith’s Ranch drive-in movie theater (one of the last of its kind in the country), the famous 29 Palms Inn, the infamous Palms Saloon, and the wonderfully kitschy Foster’s Freeze ice cream parlor.
However, for awesome and unique hiking, running, mountain biking, off-roading, and horseback riding, you never need to get in your car. You can walk out the front door and take off, devising your own routes and outdoor adventures over miles and miles of scenic Mojave desert splendor. Wildlife is abundant in the park and at the Ranchito. While lounging on the lanai, in a hammock, or the jacuzzi, our guests regularly spot coyotes, jackrabbits, all types of birds, and the occasional bobcat.
